About the Artist

A freelance artist and designer….

Shannon Eagle is a freelance artist and designer out of Tacoma, WA. Growing up in a small town in Missouri, she would spend her school days doodling on any spare surface. Quite a bit of time was spent daydreaming of the worlds she'd read about in books and seen in movies. She would later move to Orlando, FL to pursue an Associates & Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design. This new medium presented exciting new avenues, however, she still loved the challenges that more traditional mediums gave her.

Shannon left the oppressive heat of Florida in exchange for the comfort of the cool waters and lush forests of Washington State. She explores themes in nature, mythology, and even the macabre with her art. When she is not painting, she can be found tending to her garden, taking long strolls through the many beautiful gardens and woods in the Pacific Northwest, and enjoying some of the finest crafted beers around. It’s here that makes her home with a man named Cory, her guitar shredding beau. The couple is accompanied by their three dogs, named Titan, Tali, & Echo, and two cats, named BlackStar and Saphira. Shannon is also known to thoroughly enjoy reading books of various natures, relaxing through yoga and running, gardening, and continuing her exploration of the wide world around her. Her work has been featured in galleries and businesses across the US. If you are in Washington, you can view some of her work at Oppegaard Meadery in Tukwila and KVLT Mead in Tacoma.

Extended Bio

Shannon Eagle is a freelance artist and designer out of Tacoma, WA. She would spend her school days doodling on any spare surface, spending quite a bit of time daydreaming of the worlds she'd read about in books and seen in movies. Growing up in a small town in Missouri wasn't filled with the excitement she'd always longed for, so she sought out a way to escape the boredom. She loved viewing worlds on various formats such as video games and animation from Disney & Japan, and took a decent amount of influence from that when first embarking on her artistic journey. Not every outlet proved to be constructive, and the road had a few bumps along the way, but art always proved to be a worthy outlet for the deepest, tantalizing thoughts that began to occupy her mind.

Packing her things, she left everyone and everything she was familiar with, and headed off to college in Orlando, FL. There, she pursued both an Associates & Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design. It was an avenue into a new artistic medium that would open doors, and lead her into various new directions. When she wasn’t studying, she filled her spare time with the study, craft, and appreciation of traditional art. After successfully completing her educational goals in 2008, she began the first part of her journey into the vast world of art she had hoped to explore.

Soon out of college, she began yearning for the absolute creative freedom that design never seemed to completely fulfill. Her husband Ben, who she had met in college, encouraged her to spread her wings and pursue the more traditional art she loved so much. Together, they explored some of the wonderful parts of Florida from being pirates in the crystal clear waters of The Keys, to traipsing through the crowds of Disney World and the other parks that were in their own back yard. These adventures were the beginning of her exploration into other mediums such as acrylic and watercolor, both fun and sometimes unforgiving in their lessons. She loved and embraced the challenges they presented.

Unfortunately, a large and ill-fated bump in the road would teach her some harsh lessons on love and loss, morphing her Floridian wonderland into something else. Faced with an unexpected life altering situation, she looked to the horizon, and made another step towards the great unknown. Shannon left the oppressive heat of Florida in exchange for the mountains and rain of western Washington; once again, she packed everything she had to her name, and, with her brother Darryl, set out.

In the comfort of the cool waters and lush forests of Washington State, she began to rebuild herself and learn once again what art truly meant to her. Along her new path, she explores themes in nature, mythology, and even the macabre. When she is not painting vigorously through various mediums (each with it’s own wonderful challenges), she can be found tending to her garden, taking long strolls through the many beautiful gardens and woods in the Pacific Northwest, and enjoying some of the finest crafted beers around. She affectionately makes her home with a man named Cory, her guitar shredding beau. The couple is accompanied in their humble abode by their three dogs, named Titan, Tali, & Echo, and two cats, named BlackStar and Saphira.

I would like to give a special thanks to my writing & editorial friends Crystal and Shelby, without whom, this biography would be a jumbled mess of words.
